LedgerPort connects your WooCommerce store to QuickBooks Online (QBO) and keeps them in sync automatically. When an order is placed, updated, or completed in WooCommerce, LedgerPort sends that data to your QuickBooks company in real time – no manual exports, no CSV uploads, no duplicate data entry.
This guide explains what LedgerPort does, what you need before installing it, and what the setup process looks like from start to finish.
What LedgerPort Does
LedgerPort listens to your WooCommerce store using webhooks and forwards data to QuickBooks Online through the LedgerPort SaaS platform. The following data is synced:

Sync happens automatically in real time as events occur in WooCommerce. You can also trigger a manual sync at any time from the LedgerPort admin menu.
How It Works
LedgerPort is a two-part system:
- The WordPress plugin – installed on your WooCommerce store. It provisions WooCommerce API credentials and webhooks, and acts as the bridge between your store and the LedgerPort platform.
- The LedgerPort SaaS platform – hosted at app.ledgerport.com. This is where your QuickBooks Online connection is managed, your account mappings are stored, sync logic runs, and your audit logs are kept.
The plugin handles everything that happens on the WordPress side. The SaaS platform handles the QuickBooks side. You manage both from the LedgerPort admin menu inside WordPress.
Requirements
Before installing LedgerPort, confirm your environment meets the following:

HTTPS is required. LedgerPort will not allow you to complete the connection flow on a site that is not using SSL/HTTPS. If your site is on HTTP only, enable SSL before proceeding. Most hosting providers offer free SSL via Let’s Encrypt.
Currency must match. Your WooCommerce store currency and your QuickBooks Online company’s home currency must be the same. LedgerPort does not convert currencies. If there is a mismatch, the connection will not activate.

Setup Overview
Setting up LedgerPort takes about five minutes. Here is what the process looks like:
- Install the LedgerPort plugin on your WordPress site (from WordPress.org or by uploading the zip).
- The plugin opens the Setup Wizard automatically after activation.
- In the Setup Wizard, click Connect to start the connection flow.
- You are redirected to app.ledgerport.com to log in and authorize the connection.
- After authorizing, you are redirected back to your WordPress site.
- LedgerPort automatically creates a WooCommerce REST API key and registers webhooks.
- The connection is confirmed and you land on the Dashboard.
- Configure your account mappings so WooCommerce data maps correctly to your QuickBooks Chart of Accounts.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does LedgerPort work with HPOS (High Performance Order Storage)? Yes. LedgerPort declares full compatibility with WooCommerce’s High Performance Order Storage (custom order tables). No additional configuration is needed.
Do I need a LedgerPort account before installing the plugin? Yes. You will need an active account at ledgerport.com to complete the connection. You can create an account during setup if you do not have one.
Can I connect multiple WooCommerce stores to one LedgerPort account? This depends on your LedgerPort plan. Each connected store counts as one connection. Your plan’s connection limit is shown on the Connection page in the admin menu.
Does LedgerPort support WooCommerce Subscriptions? LedgerPort syncs standard WooCommerce order and customer data. Subscription renewal orders are synced as regular orders when they are created in WooCommerce.
What happens if my site loses internet access or the LedgerPort API is temporarily unavailable? LedgerPort uses WooCommerce webhooks for real-time sync. If a webhook delivery fails, WooCommerce will retry it automatically. You can also use the Manual Sync page to push data on demand.
